I just had the most fabulous time on my first ski trip to Colorado. Don't ask me the name of the resort, because I didn't pay attention to that. When my cousin Flo-danna called on New Year's Day, I just grabbed my scarf and cap and took off. It was a little rough flying into the north wind the whole way, but so worth it.
The snow - Oh my! I 'd never actually seen or felt snow before being a GRITS (girls raised in the South) girl, and all. It was cold and wet , but oh, so soft. When I found Flo-danna and her friends we immediately had a gi-normous snowball fight! I was on the side that won, of course.
The next morning we hit the slopes bright and early. Since flamingos have such large feet, we do not need to wear skis, but I wanted to try them anyway. Those things are as long and skinny as my legs! Well, I got all tangled up in them and couldn't tell my tail from wing tip, so I did finally give up and go commando.
There were 10 of us in all, and we made quite a colorful sight sliding down the slope all in a long column. The great thing about having wings is not having to stand in line to take the lift back to the top. We could fly over the other skiiers in the cars and drop snow on them!

But my favorite part was making snow flamingos. You probably made them when you were a kid, but you called them snow angels. Well, snow flamingos are much prettier! It was fun to make 10 in a row and then hide benind the trees to watch the expressions on the humans faces when they saw our beautiful snow art work. Here is a picture of me hiding behind a bush and laughing. Maybe you can't see me because I am so well hidden.
We're off to a Quilt Show in Fort Myers, Florida and I'm looking forward to some sun time!
