Meet marshall the Flamingo

Hi everyone!

I am in love! His name is Marshall and he's a very handsome pink flamingo who lives at the Dreher Park Zoo. That's him on the left getting ready to give me a kiss. You can't see much of me, but blame the photographer.

I met him last month and it was love at first sight for both of us. He had a trampy girlfriend named Amelia, and he left her on the spot for me. She wasn't so happy about that and she went after him and pitched a real hissy! She squawked and flapped, bit and honked, kicked and made a general ruckus. She bit Marshall a good one on his head and the zoo keeper had to come out and separate them. Poor Marshall had a wound on his head and had to go to the infirmary and have it bandaged. I stayed by him and wrapped my neck around him to comfort him. That tramp got sent off to solitary confinement for a week and it served her right!

Marshall can't fly because his wings are clipped, so I have to fly to the zoo to see him. Mom doesn't know about Marshall because I've been going at night while she is sleeping. Flamingos are very good long distance flyers and do most their flying at night, so it's been easy to be home before dawn.

I plan to introduce them to each other at the World Quilt Show in Palm Beach County. I hope mom likes him because he's really the one! maybe I can get Mom to adopt him so he can come & live with us!

All I can say is Good Luck with that (getting mom to adopt him) :) I remember those days well. Have fun, but not too much. Blessings sweetie, Janet

LOL. Very cute post, but I am sorry about Marshall getting hurt and having to go to the infirmary. Maybe you can make him a cute hat!
